Al and I have been involved in
woodworking for many years and selling all of our tools and supplies at
woodcarving shows since 1999. We
started our online store in
2002 and have been catering to woodburners and woodcarvers. I was
introduced to gourds back in 1999 while living in Texas but when we relocated to
New Mexico I found myself drawn back to working with gourds more and more and
experimenting with lots of new tools, mediums and embellishments. In early
2008 when I finally found the products I felt were good enough to recommend and
sell in our store I slowly started adding them to our online store.
After getting many requests from
our existing customers who were not only pyrographers but also gourd artists I
decided it was time to re-evaluate our focus and launch a new department just
for gourd supplies. And so, GourdSupplies.com was created introducing our
new lines of gourd supplies. GourdSupplies.com has been growing ever since
and now includes a wide variety of paints, pigments, gourd ink dyes, sealers,
hand tools and a wide variety of supplies and accessories. The only thing
missing is power tools. We will continue to carry woodburning tools and
perhaps in the future will pick up some power tools but for now we will limit
our gourd supplies to everything but power tools.
I
am so pleased to be able to offer you the same products recommended and used by
Maria Dellos of Gourd TV. Maria developed the techniques for using ink
dyes, metallic gel glazes and other Terre Bella Finishes products on gourds.

The gourds displayed here were
made with some of the products we carry. The gourd on the top right was
made with the suede lacing and beads we carry. The gourd on the left was
colored with gourd ink dyes and embellished with sea grass and stone arrowhead.
The gourd on the bottom right was made with Earth Safe Finishes Old World
Peasant Paint, Pure Color pigments, Opulence, Metallic Gel Glaze and gourd ink
dyes, both regular and metallic. It was finished off with some of the
beads we carry and is displayed on our new gourd stands.
