Every one of Alan's carving is done by hand and there are no two carvings alike.
Alan enjoys caricature carving as well as realistic carving. Since he retired from the VA several years ago, his stress levels have come down and he has been able to spend a lot of time doing something he loves - work in his shop!
Alan and Nedra are members of several woodcarving clubs including the National Woodcarvers Association and lifetime members of the Texas Woodcarvers Guild. Alan was past President of the Capitol Woodcarvers Association in Olympia, WA before moving to New Mexico.

Cooking Spoon Hand carved by Alan Available in a variety of woods including spalted maple, mahogany and walnut finished with food grade oil. These spoons are one of our most popular products we make and sell like hotcakes. They are made in a 3 basic shapes but if you have a favorite you can send us a photo with a tracing of the shape and Al would be happy to make it for you. Some of the spoons are made with an inlay in the handle. The inlay Al uses is either a pewter bead or a resin inlay. Need a utensil holder for your hand carved spoons, check out the hand made utensil hold on the Southwestern Pyrography page. The holder is made by Alan and the pyrography is done by Nedra.
